1. Rinse your new GoFiltr under running water for 30 seconds to wash away dust and small particles that could form during transportation.
2. Place your GoFiltr into bottle and fill it with water. That’s about it.
You can drink your water right away but it takes GoFiltr about 15 minutes to achieve it’s maximum potential. Ionization usually takes 10-20 minutes, while alkalization process takes just a few short minutes.
You can do either but we suggest keeping GoFiltr in your bottle, here’s why:
- Ionization is a constant process and fluctuates rapidly in presence of free radicals – sun, moon, weather conditions, radio signals, etc. In order for your water to stay ionized keep GoFiltr in your bottle.
- pH / Alkalinity will also fluctuate just not as rapid as Ionization. In order to keep your water alkaline you should keep GoFiltr in your bottle. pH in real natural alkaline water is never stable, that’s why many bottled alkaline water makers use baking soda in to stabilize pH in a plastic bottle, a cheap mass production technique that we don’t believe in.
All GoFiltr cartridges are made of food grade, BPA free materials and filled with all natural, proprietary formula that consist of specifically formulated minerals, including magnesium, potassium, calcium and other proprietary mineral granules that were specifically developed for your GoFiltr.
GoFiltr fits any bottle with neck opening of 1″ (27mm) or wider. We’ve tested GoFiltr with many common brands bottles, including Swell, Nalgene, Hydroflask, Klean Kanteen, Mira, CamelBak, Contigo and it fits them all. If you purchase GoFiltr and it doesn’t fit your bottle just let us know, our refund policy is quite flexible!
No, FDA does not certify consumer products. We understand that some sellers make such (false) statements which are actually against FDA policy to begin with and doesn’t mean these products were ever tested. Many such sellers do not manufacture the products and simply re-brand and re-sell. On other hand, we manufacture all of our products in small batches right here in California.
While GoFiltr Alkaline is made per FDA guidelines we do not make any statements in relation to FDA certifications or put FDA logos on our product packaging since we believe this is simply misleading. Instead, we spend our time on rigorous in-house testing and then verifying our test results in State Certified Water Testing Facilities right here in California, USA.
Not at this time. While GoFiltr will help with chlorine evaporation during ionization process it does not remove chlorine. We tested various purification media widely used in other alkaline products for chlorine removal but unfortunately it did not pass our tests since some purification media was depositing small amounts of aluminum while others worked by adding water softeners. Rigorously shaking water in your bottle and leaving it open for a few minutes can help to dramatically reduce chloroform from your water since it evaporates very quickly during contact with air.
Natural Alkaline water is made in nature when water passes over rocks & picks up minerals, which increase its alkaline level.
Bottled Alkaline water contains baking soda. Natural alkaline water pH fluctuates rapidly through the day and cannot be bottled. That’s why many bottled alkaline waters contain baking soda, a cheap “mass-production” practice to stabilize water pH in a plastic bottle. Watch-out for “bicarbonate” in the ingredients.
Artificial Alkaline water goes through a chemical process called electrolysis, which uses an ionizer to raise the pH of regular water. A study published by the World Health Organization cautions against drinking water with low mineral content on a regular basis.
Many home water purifiers & pitchers demineralize your water and actually decrease water alkalinity.
GoFiltr Alkaline replicates natural water mineralization process, just like in nature, increasing water alkalinity to up to 9.5.
Ultimate bottle: 24oz, dual insulated, stainless steel. Here’s why.
24oz is an optimal size. If you prefer smaller or larger size there’s nothing wrong with that but after some number crunching we’ve discovered that an average person on an average day probably wouldn’t need anything larger than 24oz bottle since this is enough water between refills. Many people like filling up bottles with specific/filtered water but if you use GoFiltr then you can fill up your bottle from any tap and GoFiltr will re-mineralize your water plus reduce some contaminants your tap water may have.
Plastic & Glass Bottles: While plastic bottles are light and cheap eventually they’ll end up in landfill or ocean, plus both plastic and glass bottles can easily crack & scratch. Most of these bottles are not dual insulated therefore they wont keep your water cold. If you take these bottles out on a warm day or to a beach then just imagine drinking that warm water from a plastic bottle that’s been sitting on a beach for an hour… you get the picture. If you like ice-cold water then these bottles will also “sweat” and drip and make a mess – not great if you carry it in your bag, will also wet everything it touches.
Single wall stainless steel bottles: durable but pretty much the same story as glass and plastic bottles. More expensive but good “green” choice.
Dual insulated Stainless Steel – heavier than single-walled bottles but totally worth it. These bottles more expensive than other bottles but come with a lot of benefits. Firstly, these bottles don’t sweat! Yes you can fill your bottle with icy-cold water and generally there will be no single drip or condensation. Secondly, it will keep your chilled beverage cool for a while, most dual-insulated bottle makers say that chilled beverages will stay cool 12-24hrs even if it’s in direct sunlight. If you plan on taking your bottle around the town in a warm day, a park or a beach then there’s nothing better than drinking refreshing chill water vs that warm water from a plastic bottle. While these bottles are heavier than other bottles on the market just think of weight as additional exercise that you add to your day.
ORP stands for Oxidative Reduction Potential. Most drinking water have positive ORP levels ranging from +300 to +750 (the lower the better). GoFiltr Alkaline reduces that value to negative 200 or less, creating Ionized Antioxidant water that protects against free radicals, detoxifying and rejuvenating your body. It’s not uncommon to get ORP reading of -950 with a GoFiltr in a bottle.
GoFiltr guaranteed to stay fresh for 2 years before opening or up to 90 days after first use. Please store at room temperature in dry environment.
